Rocky Top Rescue

Our Story

Located in East Tennessee, Rocky Top Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue and sanctuary focused on rehabilitating and healing animals that have been abandoned, neglected, and abused. All of the animals at RTR are considered sanctuary members and will remain at RTR as their forever home for the rest of their lives. RTR does not adopt out, but is also home to foster animals that are available for adoption through other reputable rescue organizations.

Along with a growing team of volunteers, RTR is family-managed by Jeff and Heather Brandon who are the founders and primary animal caregivers. Sprawling over 100 acres, Rocky Top Rescue is currently home to equines, dogs and feral cats that have been rescued, surrendered or are currently visiting as fosters.

Rocky Top Rescue’s focus is to rehabilitate rescued animals, assist with emergency rescues in partnership with other rescue organizations, and facilitate the placement of animals to appropriate rescues or forever homes. RTR is committed to educating about the value of adoption and promoting their motto, “rescued doesn’t mean broken.”
